  I am very, very happy as a parent that my children have had the opportunity to be a part of The Highlands School. Whether your child's 'thing' is sports, drama, activism student gov't or spirituality, there will be a place for them to find a niche here if they want it. Teachers care, Admin cares, and the presence of the priests, Brothers and Consecrated has been a total blessing on all of us. Granted, no place is perfect. The Highlands is not a 'perfect' school. But for me, what is good about it far outweighs any flaw it may display from time to time. THS has been a total blessing to my family, and that's why we're still there. JM

  I went here from pre-k(indergarten) 3 to 8th grade and while I didn't hate it while attending, the uber-Catholic environment (we had communion service every day and mass every week) made me insecure about my faith as a Baptist and made me question it. Aesthetic-wise, the buildings are quite ugly even though they have tried to fix that with paint and new tiles. My brother has also told me, last year, a teacher was drunk and yelled certain words at the cheerleaders. The principal that had been leading for the past several years also allegedly faked his certificate so the hiring practices are questionable. I also felt the complete separation of girls and boys from 4th grade made me more socially awkward. Overall, the academics are good (Mrs. Engel, Mrs. Higginbotham, Mrs. Tran and Sra. Sobenes are wonderful), the religious aspect is very heavy, the buildings are ugly, and the hiring choices made have been questionable at best.
